Happy 4th - Things sure aren't what they used to be and it isn't getting better. I go through my mail, mostly from news sources. The headlines of things happening is depressing, even local stuff. Of course it is click bait but every day there's someone missing, a hit and run or a robbery.. There have always been some sort of things you'd hear that was dire and didn't want to hear or read about but nowhere near what I'm interpreting as increased crime and concerns.

The political scene today, that usurped so much of my time these last five years, would be a joke if it wasn't so concerning. Trump may have been a thorn to many but at least under his administration one could feel that preserving the country and protecting its citizens was a priority. Now I feel there is no respect for anything and the country as envisioned by the current administration is changing more rapidly than I would have thought possible. Everything is racist. One should feel guilty for being white, make reparations for the actions of our forefathers, having to accept gender dysphoria legally even when it goes against common sense such as a woman's recent report of having to witness a man's penis hanging out in a woman's salon or a man competing in women's sports to name just a few things of a long list that make my blood boil.

Sorry for the rant. There are enough situations here that needed improvement without introducing and trying to legitimize those that exacerbate them.
