Re: Mask or not?

Opinion...I've been wearing a mask in deference to others almost all along. I've never believed that the mask will protect oneself from the Covid germ if exposed. It's like trying to prevent a mosquito from going through a chain link fence. It does offer a measure of protection from a cough or sneeze where spittle might be expelled. I also feel that the mask itself is a source of contamination..Most people use them over and over again from what I've observed. Some people are so paranoid they wear them when alone in a car. Common sense is advised...They are not worn to protect yourself, they are worn to protect others, that piece of initial CDC advice seems to have fallen to the wayside. The same seems to apply to the vaccine, it does not certainly protect you from getting Covid, it lessens the severity if you should. Mama's situation is different than most others, she not only has to worry about her own vulnerability but of those compromised family members. If everyone sharing space is 2 weeks past their second vaccine shot, it's reasonable to forego the mask. One of my own idiosyncrasies was who the people are and what their job or habits are. If I know someone is using public transportation or meeting the public, I was more likely to wear a mask in their company. I have barely left the house myself but after my plane ride home, I kept to myself for the required time.
