Talk about taking a proprietary interest...Mama Duck was not on her nest when I got up this morning, not unusual as I've mentioned her morning hiatus. Two hours later, she had not returned and I began to worry about her. There had been a complaint about too many ducks being on the lake when the other duck had her batch a week or so ago and trapping had been mentioned. I began to wonder if someone had actually tried to trap them and had she gotten caught with them? Much to my relief, she just flew back and settled back in. After all this time, I'd hate to see her nest abandoned.
