I'm glad you are enjoying the news. I think it's rare to have this kind of view even if you live on a farm. Her nest is right next to a floor to ceiling glass wall and I'm in the room all the time. Muscovy ducks do not spend as much time in the water as other ducks which has something to do with the oil glands that make their feathers waterproof. Today we had a really heavy downpour and I checked how she was handling it. She sat on the nest immobile with all her eggs covered, looking like a wooden decoy duck. You could see how wet her feathers were and it wasn't until it was over that she started to preen herself.
