I didn't go past my driveway for 3 months until my daughter's illness made it necessary for me to go to doctor's offices and now to the hospital. She is having a very tough time with the chemo effects, and couldn't eat or drink, so now I have to bring her in to the Infusion Clinic for hydration every day for three days. I walked a mile again yesterday not realizing I couldn't stay with her. Shows you what has happened to my mind. They sent me back, walking in the sun.
Meds have been changed, two infusions have already been done, and she is a little better but far from herself. She still cannot eat but a few spoons and a few sips before becoming nauseated and in pain. We are in constant contact with the nurse at the Palliative Clinic who is really wonderful.
Stacey was craving tortilla chips and sunflower seeds. She managed to eat 5 chips and was munching on the seeds altho I told her not to. And ofcourse, the nurse said the same thing. She told her to eat just what I told her to eat, light and soft. Broth, chicken noodle soup, mashed potatoes. Drink Ensure. Mother knows best, but Stacey is my most stubborn kid since the day she was born. If she had only listened to me the past two years, but that is spilled milk.
