While the world has been reading the headline in recent days of a "possible" act of the UK parliament to remove Andrew M-W from the line of succession, I was wondering about the extent of that possible act, how it would be implemented and when. So for instance, these questeions:

1. Will such an act be held back until such time as all the current investigations into AMW are completely concluded - allowing the authorities to understand also who else in his immediate family might be complicit in his business improprieties?

2. Will the successional removal - if it happens - be initiated in the Commons, move to the Lords and then given the royal assent? Was that the previous procedure in the 18th century with the Act of Settlement? Or was that earlier Act much more extensive, and this possible future Act one that limits the exclusions to Andrew - and his direct descendants too?
