The thread below in regard to The Princess Royal's recent interview, specifically her comments about the expected change to the rhythm of royal life, made me wonder about Highgrove. As it was purchased by the Duchy of Cornwall, wouldn't William now be the new owner?
It's difficult, though, to imagine His Majesty wanting to give it up in any substantive way. Pure speculation of course, but I wonder if there might be an unofficial trade-off with the Waleses becoming, for lack of a better word, tenants, of Sandringham, in return for the King retaining use of Highgrove. Anmer Hall may, of course, remain their preference when a country retreat is needed, making the topic moot.
