Aside from the early deaths of the title holders you list, what I was also thinking of was the reputed murder of that Duke of Clarence who was brother to Richard III. I didn't check if he's on your name list there.
That duke was George Plantagenet, the 2nd holder of the title whom I mentioned. He was imprisoned in the Tower of London for treason by his elder brother, Edward IV and died there apparently executed in secret on Edward's orders. There is no evidence his younger brother, the future Richard III, was involved. That was an invention of Shakespeare.
Also what I was thinking of when I said "dark", and probably a story no one can substantiate, was the son of Q. Victoria reputed to have suffered from porphyria and rumored to be the actual "Jack the Ripper" during his bouts of porphyria.
The duke you're referring to was Albert Victor, the last holder of the title who was Queen Victoria's grandson (he was the elder son of the then Prince of Wales, the future Edward VII). The story that he was Jack the Ripper is pure nonsense and should not affect any future decision to re-create the title.
