Excellent points. I'm familiar with the silly warming pan rumors but I didn't know the infant Prince James, Prince of Wales was actually declared illegitimate. Who declared him illegitimate?
Apologies William, seems I jumped the gun there. His illegitimacy was only ever a rumour. Parliament attempted to stop him from ever hoping to press his claim to the throne through the 1701 Act of Settlement which barred Catholics from the succession. When he declared himself king following his father's death Parliament attainted him for treason.
