I think it will be important to the King that Camilla is crowned. It took long enough for a decision to be made about her being styled Queen Consort. He will want her treating as previous Queen Consorts were treated. I think the public like pageantry and would want some pomp but in a society that is more egalitarian and multi cultural there will be no appetite for rows of ermine wearing aristocrats donning their coronets and there will have to be contributions from different faiths.
If tradition is to predominate at the new king's coronation then all the talk of modernising and streamlining the ceremony is simply a lot of hot air. Why should a female consort continue to be crowned when her male predecessor, who fulfilled that role for longer than any other consort in history, was not?
Why not continue to crown our queens consort and also crown any future kings consort, which is what we ought to have with the succession law being absolute primogeniture now?
