I was expecting to see some answers here. My suggestion is to go take flute lessons from someone - university, local flutist, etc. The quickest way to figure out a 6th grader's problem, is to try and overcome it yourself. Hint #1: please don't do the "roll the head joint in and out" method to find the location of the hole.
