The kid has been carrying this non-payment for two years, and this is prior to any hardship at the house. The parents have a history of non-payment, again before any hardship.
People here talk about not being in the "real world". Well, in the real world, how long does a creditor wait before turning a debt over to a collection agency, and hitting the credit report? They don't wait two years.
