Some of the best teachers work in small, inner-city, Title 1 schools. Unless you have ever worked at one you do not understand.

I believe that a teacher that is consistently successful in these situations can be successful anywhere. It does not work the other way though such as a successful teacher at an affluent school with a huge staff, kids in lessons and state of the art facilities moving to an inner-city Title 1 school for example. For some reason we cellebrate these directors. It is actually hard to fail in these situations.

The best teachers are in the trenches and unfortunatly no one knows who they are.
