This is almost my situation in AL, I feel like I am 2 years ahead of you though. And all I can say is push through. Sometimes, yes, your breath of fresh air, will be great and well needed change in the program. Then when the new car smell has worn off on you, all of a sudden there is pushback because the program is going in new directions, and it’s starting to be your culture. Yes, you’ll have to push kids out, but like others have said find and build your core group of students, then by year 5 you’ll be thriving. The grass is always greener, and sometimes a change for you is needed, but from what I gather, it’s now the challenging/fun part. Establishing your culture, this is where it’s hard, but if you trust the process, it’ll payoff in the end.
