I was speaking with some coworkers the other day about this, and it got me thinking and curious about our community's experience as a whole.

If you are a non-percussionist, what are some things that you don't understand about playing and/or teaching the instrument, that you wish you did (or would like to learn)? Or musical concepts and sounds that you have no problem getting wind instrument players to understand and execute, but you can't seem to translate it to percussion?
