I agree with the other two comments. I'm a head director and I make myself available very nearly EVERY junior high rehearsal. I've been pulling kids out regularly. Today I ran the JH rehearsal so she could pull out the flutes (her instrument).

In your position, I would politely and professionally make my opinion known and insist they come work the region kids.
