I used painters tape on tile floor, marking each leg, and it worked really well because at the end of class, or when changing to another activity, I would remind students to adjist their chairs. It was great that I didn't have to do it after every class. I recommend finding a tape, or velcro like another post mentioned as opposed to spots, so each student can see exactly where each chair leg goes.
