Absolutely not! If a student makes a B in your class, should they quit the program?

Remember...a contest rating is a snapshot of how the adjudicators perceived the band's one performance on one day under one set of circumstances. Use the feedback the judges give and move on. If the director recognizes some areas in which improvement can be made, keep working on those skills whether it is with the band or personal growth.
