Much of our success as band directors are our own self identity, value or validation. The challenge with us "being our own worst enemy" is that band is only fun when we are getting better. While getting better can look differently, it typically requires an intense dedication to getting better. This is the challenge. For all of us. Good luck.

Spending more time at work than with your spouse is pretty typical in most professions.

Most teachers are on 185-210 day contracts. There are 260 business days in a year. Use those additional days to spend with your spouse, family, and to recharge.

It is difficult. And right now you are in the grind.
