Just a quick report on conditions Monday 08/10 – The Lady Godiver having the Monday off from the job managed to get out for a quick digging trip to our favorite wreck, the Delaware . After this weekend’s blow, me and a few other desperate individuals were dying to get out and try our luck – We figured leaving as soon as the sun came up would be our best bet. Well we were not incorrect, but it was far from perfect. As most everyone knows, the vis at the Delaware is at most times pretty marginal, so we figured the big blow would could not ruin things more than usual. As we arrived, things were a little bumpy but nothing this group of True Underwater Explorers could not handle, After a quick check of things we were tied in Amazing quick lolololol – it is nice to know people that know how to tie in correctly– It was clear on top but as we came down the line, the last 15 feet to the bottom was like a sandstorm, with lots of bottom swell. Well the bottom vis was about two foot and when we started rooting around it just got worse. I managed to see one small lobster and the hunter that was with us was disappointed but not at all surprised. After almost a 40 minute bottom time, a few little knick knacks and odd bits came up but nothing really special. I was hoping for another draw knob to add to the one I found a year ago, but no luck. My impression is it has been hit pretty hard lately by several different boats and picked over really badly. After an equally amazing quick untie from the end of the shaft, we were out of there, quickly checking out another interesting spot and then back thru the surf called shark river inlet lol – Not the greatest of trips but one well worth the effort after being land locked for a weekend.
I remain
