I have been watering a few hours, every 4 days, for weeks. Unlike you,, I don't have acreage.. You'd think things wouldn't dry up, so fast.. The dryness goes down several inches, too. Any water from the hose is not penetrating very deep, either. Surface gets dry in just a few days. I have to keep watering, if the dryness continues, because plants can be expensive to replace. I wish more people considered climate change, to be real, and not a hoax. Droughts and flooding are happening annually now, often in the same areas. One extreme to the next, in a relative short period of time. One minute you are wondering when the rain will stop, and then wondering when it will rain more than a sprinkle, if that.

September has brought showers now and then and its become green again. This is the US dry season believe it or not but seems like the dry pattern hit earlier than usual. We hit 90* after lunch and had a 5 minute gully washer that surely helped. I think next week they are saying rainy patterns from the gulf so I guess tropical systems are active. It doesn't take a hurricane to get some relief but in years past in a dry pattern, I have wished for one. Florida has been lucky to miss those bad boys so far this season. Family in the panhandle never seem to be concerned about them. I would if I lived there. Hope the boys have some pumpkins soon. Your pear will amaze you next season. Hope you get some rain soon and I bet you had a very hot summer too. I don't even want to talk about winter. A week or so ago they were winter forecasting cold in the north and not so cold in the south. Now they are saying snow everywhere. Another ice age Some people do freak at the cold in winter and the hot and dry in summer but I try to remember weather travels in cycles. Some years are better than others. My faithful nephew got married and lives in El Segundo, California now and he said it stays around 70* all year, now thats where we need to be.

It was a hot July, Aug and Sept. Owen already got a small one. He has it in his room, and I said that needs to go before it gets nasty. 70's all year would be nice. Our last two months felt like southern California, sunny and dry. lol
