Good luck with the Trachy blooms, and seed set, even though I've heard you discuss how the seedlings can be a bit weedy, if the seeds are left to mature on the tree.
Rhubarb likes its winters to be a bit colder than those you have there in S.c. The summers may also be a tad too hot, as well, for rhubarb. It usually goes semi-dormant, even here, by mid-summer, when temps get hotter. For those in your boat, you may be able to buy it at a supermarket, shipped from some other state. Best to harvest it from the garden, by early summer. I love strawberries mixed in with the rhubarb, for rhubarb-strawberry pie. Yum.
The tulips will continue here, for about another month. I intentionally planted some from all the tulip groups, in order to extend the tulip season, from early through late.
I've heard that Dog Hobble is plentiful, in the South. In fact, the reason why it is called its common name, is because hunting dogs would often get tangled up, in its stems, back in the days when people hunted more for their food.
Iris begins blooming here, around mid-May.
