Mark, weather media down south is calling this blizzard (NJ-NY-MA) ground zero and something like this only occurring 4 or 5 times (at most) in a lifetime of someone in the path of this storm.
I hope the heavy snow in your area will not be a super impact and wishing you the best. This is a real milk and bread alert.
The sad story about this event is it will be followed immediately by below freezing temps that will reach down into Florida and two (2) more snow storms are right behind this blizzard. Those two storms will not be as bad as the one happening now but will make the situation worse.
This is the worst winter I've seen outside the south in many years. There is a positive outlook to be seen by just about all of us. The country flips again (and hopefully for good) as the 8-14 day outlook is showing a massive heat wave all across the country (except for far east NY and further up east and the northern tier of MT, MN, Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of MI)
The first few days of March will be unprecedented with warmer days ahead. I'm thinking there will still be a chance of a frost somewhere after then but as hard as it is to imagine, old man winter is in his last days for 2026. Good riddance.
