The log-range forecast has fall-like weather returning to my area, toward the end of next week. The forecasters even went as far to say, that next week could see my last 80 degree days, until next year. What a bummer, right?
Christmas in October? Well, the shortening days, as well as the gradual lowering of average high temps, has triggered the Thanksgiving/Christmas cacti, still outdoors, to develop flower buds. No need to manually provide 12 hrs of lighting and 12 hrs of darkness, indoors, the process happens on its own, when these plants spend the warmer months, outdoors...

Here are a couple plants I got from Grassy Knoll Nursery, on the West Coast. They are two different species of TELOPEA. Telopea is a genus of Proteas, that are native to Down Under countries. One is a Telopea speciosissima, and the other is a Telopea truncata. Anybody else growing any Proteas?...
