Back in the spring, I posted pics of the currant and gooseberry, when they were blooming. Well, it is harvest time, now! Really have to reach in carefully, with the gooseberries, because their stems are full of needle-like thorns, lol.

Here's a pic of my PawPaw, AKA "Michigan Banana" Asimina triloba. It has been in the ground, maybe 6-7 yrs, but still not blooming/fruiting age. The tropical fruit tree relative is native to the Great Lake State. There is even a Michigan town, named PawPaw.
Anybody else growing PawPaw, in their garden?

Here's a pic of a bareroot Starkspur Golden Delicious Apple (from Stark Bros), that I planted, leafless, last month. Now look at it! There are actually a few flower buds that are opening. I don't expect these to produce any fruit, this year, but I am impressed with its precociousness. I have other fruit trees, in the ground, for a few years, that have not bloomed yet. Maybe, next year, for this one...

CUPID'S BOW, Achimenes, spp., is starting to grow. These bloom in late summer to frost. These are stored DRY, in a dark place, in my basement, over the winter, in their pots. They return, and bloom, reliably...
