We have a large Amish town near here and a even larger Minnonite community. I love visiting there for fresh food and apothecaries. We had an even larger Amish town nearby but they said their water rights had got to minimum and no one would sell them land to expand so they relocated to Canada.
The Amish here pick one family to concentrate on one product. I was once friends with the tomato growers family and they would have big ripe tomatoes in the dead of winter. They told me its not easy living the Amish life.
