Florida,Georgia,South Carolina and Western North Carolina has suffered from nonstop tropical downpours and flooding. Those states have been hit hard.
The entire state of Tennessee is under a flood advisory along with many areas of Southern Kentucky.
We have been getting outer bands of rain and received 3" overnight. I got 2.5" of rain since this week from another system. Thats 5.5 " so far.
That system dropped 10" of rain in Western NC and now they have the hurricane. Drainage off some of the tallest mountains in the Eastern USA has caused horrible flooding.
Expecting winds here at 40 to 50 mph later today and tonight with heavy rains as the storm has not hit here yet and should be entering SE Tennessee soon. Nashville has been hit hard by these outer bands. It should fizzle out by Monday.
Jason, Tennessee has been in a severe drought and surely this will help. Nashville has power outages and I hope we are sparred. A good lineman is a popular item in the south this weekend. Glad your and your family are safe. We will make it ok.
