Earlier in the summer, I posted that my 'Silas Woods' SAPODILLA was blooming. Sapodilla is a tropical fruit, reputed to taste like ripe pears, sprinkled with cinnamon.
Well now, there are several little baby fruits forming. Oddly, since this plant fruits on new growth, additional flower buds are forming, on new growth. I don't think these additional flowers will set fruit, but I'll see..

The TIGER FLOWER, Tigridia pavonia, is blooming! Like daylilies, these blooms last just for a day. I had to "run and take a pic", while it was open. Funny how SPOTTED flowers, get named after tigers, instead of leopards, or cheetahs...

The FIELD THISTLE, Cirscium discolor, is blooming in my garden. This "weed" has beautiful purple blooms, even though the leaves are spiny. I let one or two plants stay in my garden, just for the blooms. Believe it or not, this plant is closely related to the edible artichoke plant...
