I'd bet that Abutilon in red, is beautiful. Ornge seems to be the most common color, like my other plant. Are they die-backs, there, or does the wood remain intact? I can imagine that they'd get tall, or at least, spread, if the wood stayed alive, over the winter.
You could try rooting a piece off yout non-blooming Clivia, to see if it bloomed faster than the momma plant.
Would you happen to know if your former plant is still alive? I see they can take up a bit of space. Tony in Dallas had a couple that were as tall as his house. I think they died, a few years ago, when they had a week straight of near zero temps.
