Here is a new plant I bought as a female companion for two much smaller male plants. This is a two gallon LONGSTALK HOLLY, Ilex pedunculosa, I got off Etsy. The plant is larger than expected, and I am pleased with it. Even though it could take several years, before her younger male consorts reach puberty, or be able to produce flowers, to pollinate her. After lifting the lid, of the box over it, I peeked in on my WHEEL TREE, Trochodendron arailoides, to see how it has fared through through the winter. After checking on it, I decided to remove the box for good. This is also a BLE, and kinda rare. Anybody else growing this plant?

Today, I removed the box, and minis, from my Bulgarian Trachycarpus fortunei. I will likely make a bamboo stake teepee, and throw a bedspread over it, for a few days, next week, when temps are expected to dip into the mid-20s, for lows....
