Orphan was kicked out of the nest by the father, she said. His eyes weren't even open. The male squirrels do that when they want to breed again. So she hand fed Orphan and as he grew older he had the run of the house. There were 2 other times with different squirrels that happened to and she brought them up. I think this was when she lived in West Virginia. It's funny. Where I grew up in Mass. the squirrels were grey and where I'm at now they are grey. However, there was one time in Mass. that I saw a black squirrel. And I think that squirrels in the west/Calif. are red?
