Perennial Rye lawn was just mowed :

Citrumelo in the center of the lawn .
In the center of the picture is my Edgeworthia . The buds might be damaged from that early cold . Not sure yet . I haven't really looked closely at the plant . but it may not have been hardened off totally when that November cold hit . It's such a nice early bloomer(February) so I hope the buds aren't damaged :

I decided that I better take a few Citrumelo pictures while there are still a lot on the tree . They are starting to fall off now after those 2 cold nights in November . Usually they don't start falling off until into January :

Today ; my Washy's fronds couldn't handle 21F on November 13th . This palm usually looks decent into January :

The Citrumelo is SO ornamental when filled with fruit. Have you considered growing more hardy citrus?

Beautiful Will ! Everything looks so great and lush even in winter! Thats expected for your Washy since they are finicky. Love that huge trunk.
I see a ladder in your future (maybe). Your Citrumelo and handsome grass is so nice.

I have considered adding more Citrus but I am dealing with limited space . I don't have a very large yard so I try to minimize shady areas so my Sabal Birmys can get big etc. I have a Fig tree I haven't even planted for 2 years because I can't seem to find the right spot . It'll just sit in its pot until I finally decide where to put it .

I love the grass! The neighbors across the street have grass that looks like summer year-round as opposed to my yellow Bermuda carpet. I really should look into other seeding.

Love the citrus too.

My neighbors next-door to me spend a lot of time on their yard and I like showing them up with less effort .
I had a lot of fruit this year . They will be falling all over the lawn soon . Too bad it got so cold so early in November . My Washy and the Citrus fruit look good further into January if that cold snap hadn't come so early .

Figs are very tolerant of abuse & neglect. I've kept them in pots - many years ago - when winters were colder (in terms of both minimum temperature and duration of season) and they would damage most years if planted out. Since 2000, that really hasn't been an issue, so now I go in-ground. But, heck, I used to keep them in pots a long time. Got good fruit from them. The only issue was when I kept them inside, they would tend to break dormancy in late January/early February. Then the tender, new growth would get clobbered with spider mites. Also, the new growth tended to be very long and weak. By the time I put them out in spring, I often had to cut back a lot of the indoor growth.
