Jim - some yrs back I asked what the name of the siding style your house at the time had. You answered the question but I don't recall what it was and I can't find that post now. If you don't mind, could you tell me again the name of that siding type? Thanks.
I want to build a planter using that type of siding. It would be similar to the shou sugi ban technique I used in the below planter. With that technique, the brown tones of the wood are colored by temporarily (and carefully) setting the wood on fire. Then the flaky charcoal layer is sanded or wire-brushed off:
This technique actually helps preserve the wood.
