Mine is a super-grower and is in pretty damp clay so it seems like there is no rhyme or reason to it. I need to post updated photos. There are so many non hurricane-cut vortex winter palmetto survivors in Tennessee (maybe due to winter warm-ups from the Gulf and Plains being west of the Appalachians), that I believe that if they were more widely-planted, there would be some nice success stories. The obstacle is finding them container-grown or waiting for them to grow from seed.
