Nice one Sam. I have had great success with unprotected container-grown palmettos even during the vortex winters. The one in the front of the house (east-facing) has a nice trunk and the fronds are huge. I think they are a really good option for a Southern 7b- which Nashville is with all winters averaged in history. The 30 year is 7b as well. I think their main menace is winter snowfall and extended cold.
