Its growing fine. About 14' tall now. Only the cool MAY really cut off pollinators. It only has a few fruit on it. Heck,it had more when it was 4' in warm spring years. True.
I have a Ataulfo also..looks beautiful. Maybe fruit next year? About 5' tall.
For you,they should do great in pots..warm summer nights in VA. Unlike some tropical fruit tree's? Mangoes are sweet. Even in bay area summers.
