I prefer a full crown now but I honestly don't like fronds all the way to the ground on Trachys.

You do know thats a sign of a healthy tree in a favorable climate for it but I agree, I dont like that either. I even trimmed my Little Gem dwarf Southern Magnolias lower branches that Ken Williford gave me many years ago.
Its beautiful now. Has about 8 feet of clear trunk then the crown flushes out
from its height of 25'
