I could also see Princess Alexia with her husband and Infanta Margarita with her husband. Princess Cristina of BTS and her husband also attended.
Interestingly , the Princess’s coffin was carried by members of the Royal Guard, an honour reserved for Infantes/as (and King, Queen and PoA, of course).

I am only repeating there what I read about them years ago in social media. I don't doubt she was close to her sister. The rest? I suppose it's open to public speculation...we'll see who turns up at the funeral. Or not.

“In any case, hopefully only her sister will be at her funeral and not the rest of Q. Sophia's adult children who ignored Irene for most of her life in Spain anyway”
Sorry, but I do not understand this comment. Felipe, Elena and Cristina had a good relationship with her and did not ignore her.
What’s your source for this comment? Have you read Irene’s memoirs, written with her collaboration? Sorry, but I think it is not accurate.

If she was stripped of her Greek nationality then why are they (Greek govt.) allowing her to be buried at Tatoi? That's a royal burial ground, and they're denying she was royal, so....makes no sense. In any case, hopefully only her sister will be at her funeral and not the rest of Q. Sophia's adult children who ignored Irene for most of her life in Spain anyway.

She was a Spanish citizen since 2018. She was stripped of her Greek. Ationality in the 90’s , like the rest of the Royal Family.
She will be buried at Tatoi. There will be a ceremony at the Orthodox cathedral of Madrid on Saturday and the burial will be on Monday. That’s what I have read, but let’s see.

Was Princess Irene still a citizen of Greece at the time of her death? Was she stripped of her title by the Greek government much like her brother's descendants were (according to another poster who told me over on the Scandi Royals Board that they don't have Greek passports anymore unless they accept the government's terms). Will they have her interred in Greece or in Spain?
