Among other initiatives, next Tuesday will be presented the king's facial reconstruction, realized through a 3D impression, based on archealogics and anthropologics studies developped in the last 5 years after the opening of the King's tomb in 2019.
It will be the first scientific fundamented image from a king of the 1st dynasty, portrayed at the end of his life.

D.Diniz was one of the wisest kings of the 1st dynasty.
After Portugal was "shaped" by his father, D.Afonso III, with the conquest of Algarve to the Moors, thus defining the country's fronteers, D.Diniz could devote himself to the organization of the country, the construction of many castles, mainly on the border of neighbour Castille, developped agriculture and ordered the planting of Leiria pine forest whose wood was fundamental for shipbuilding.
He was also the most learned king so far, having received an exquisite education.
He was a poet and a troubadour.
He married Isabel of Aragon, best known as Queen Saint Isabel, a pious queen famous for several miracles, the most important being the "roses miracle".
The king critised his wife for dispensing too many alms, money, food, etc.
One day he caught her when she was giving bread to the poors.
When D.Isabel saw the king, she hid the bread under her mantle.
The king asked her what was she carrying under the mantle, to which she replied: Roses, mylord.
And when she opened the mantle, the bread had changed into roses.
The same miracle is assigned to D.Isabel's aunt, St Elizabeth of Hungary.
