Apparently, the King wanted to attend the funeral but his agenda did not allow, as this week he is flying to the Dominican Republic for the inauguration of the local president.
My father died during the summer holidays.
I can't imagine having him in a mortuary drawer for 2-3 weeks to allow family and friends to finish their holidays or whatever duties.
Luckily, neither of my family and friends have to attend foreign inaugurations...
I guess it is usual in northern Europe to have such delays.
I remember there was a big gap between the death and burial of Duke Carl of Wurttemberg.
