As soon as it was known that Spain was through to the final, the Royal House announced the trip of the Queen and Infanta Sofia (a big football fan) to Sydney to support the national women’s football team.

They both looked and did great yesterday. Most comments in the national press and media are positive about their visit, their performance and joyful interaction with the Spanish Team.

IN Spain it would have been a great mistake with bad consequences if the Queen or someone from the royal household had not travelled to Australia. I believe that the four of them would have gladly attended but a) Leonor had just started few days ago her military studies and b) King Felipe has a lot on his plate these days with the constitution of the new government.
