Re: Decree of 1987 - impact on 1972 Duke of Cádiz title creation
No, the title was never confirmed in Spanish law. But the Infante did not leave in Spain and, as I have explained many times, ducal titles are granted to royals to be used by their morganatic spouse. So, he was always HRH Infante don Jaime.
Only Infanta Pilar had her ducal title confirmed in Spanish law, because she lived in Spain after her marriage.
But it was never a dubious title, like Countess of Odiel.
and Emanuela of Dampierre, as the legally recognised widow of Infante Jaime.
Manuel, was the title Duque de Segovia (granted to Jaime by his father during royal exile) ever retroactively confirmed in Spanish law? Or did it remain somewhat dubious, like the Condesa de Odiel title?
