Generally as we live in 2023 no-one has to bow/curtesy to royals if they do not wish to do so.
But of cause there are some situations where there are protocols. I can think of state visits - where everything is regulated in protocol. But these are "social constructions". So it is not like you get a fine or gets sent to jail if you do not curtesy.
The Middletons might choose to bow/courtesy to King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla out of respect for the "Office" - but to be honest I would find it absurd if they bowed/curtseyed to their daughter and son-in-law now.
I agree, but if they live to see the coronation of King William and Queen Catherine, they might choose to bow and curtsey to the King and Queen in Westminster Abbey, but hopefully not of they have tea in Buckingham Palace
