I suppose it is also a matter of choice for governmental officials. Surely some/many polititians, mainly from Lavour, do not bow or curtsey.

The Middletons are not members of the RF.
They are related to the RF.
Two different things.
In any official acts they should curtsey to their daughter, son-in-law and grand-children.
Utterly absurd. The Middletons are not required to do anything of the kind. They don't hold any official positions whatsoever. The practice of bowing and curtseying is a matter of protocol only for royal and governmental officials. It's entirely a matter of choice for ordinary people and I very much doubt the Middletons would dream of bowing to their own children and grandchildren.
