In Germany titles are technically illegal but have been turned into a surname basically. For example, the heir to the vacant Imperial and Prussian thrones is legally Georg Friedrich, Prinz von Prussia. Females are allowed to use the feminine form. Therefore Georg Friedrich's wife is Sophie, Prinzessin von Prussia.
Vacant? Or abolished... The Prince of Prussia has the civil surname 'Prinz von Preußen'. The surname is not preceded by a comma.
