The present so-called Romanovs, all descend from Peter I's eldest daughter, Anna, who married Duke Karl Friedrich of Holstein-Gottorp.
Their son was Tsar Peter III, married to Catherine II, the Great.

I believe that the Romanovs are a native dynasty as well. True, only 300 years on the throne, but the first of this line was elected to be Czar and I think he was living in what we call Russia. At the time of the election, had they already married outsiders or did this occur after ascending to the throne?
