We've had a discussion here about Prince Philip and others in the royal family and their Germanic backgrounds. When Charles assumes the throne, what will be the makeup of his background? Will there be enough Scots in him to say that he is Scottish for instance? German? British?
Charles is British. He was born and raised in the United Kingdom, English is his first language, and three of his four grandparents were born in the United Kingdom. Five of his great-grandparents were as well.
When he is king, in Canada he will be Canadian, etc.
His patriline goes back through Greece, Denmark, and to what is now Germany, but how long must someone or their ancestors exist in the country they were born and raised in before we allow them to say they are from that country?
