I have to correct you on where the Earl and Countess of St Andrews were married. They were married in a registry office in Leith, Edinburgh, Scotland, UK and not somewhere in England. As the bride was Catholic and divorced at the time of the marriage they couldn't be married by the Church of England, so they looked to Scotland who's marriage and church laws were more relaxed. Just like when the Princess Royal married for the second time.
