I wouldn't know about any of that myself, although it does seem bizarre in a general way to invite scores of foreign royals and then pointedly not invite any of your half-siblings? Referring there of course to King Abdullah's half-brothers, one of whom Hamzah is apparently under indefinite house arrest along with wife and children. Aside from Hamzah, however, there is his brother who is free and appeared in bedouin attire, but were his two half-sisters also present? Perhaps Abdullah could have done as King Charles did last month and at least go through the motions of inviting family you are alienated from. Sometimes appearances matter in a deeper sense beyond bling-bling tiaras and gowns.
Queen Maxima made a bit of a fashion faux pas today in Jordan by wearing a summery dress with a rather daring cleavage for a daytime wedding in a muslim country. She sat front and centre showing a bit too much of her Latin self. All other (royal) guests clearly had made an effort to wear more modest outfits. Isn't there someone in her presence who gives her sensible advise on such cultural sensitive matters? Starting with her husband! Contrary to what was expected, the Princess of Orange was not in attendance.
