First off, there is no such thing as a "bastard" and hasn't been for decades following a series of legislation that was passed both by EU member states and the EU itself.
The first definition of the word "bastard" in the Oxford English Dictionary is "a person conceived and born out of wedlock, and related senses".
By that definition Delphine Boell is a bastard. Belgian law may have changed the rights of such children. Belgian law however cannot change the English language as defined in the Oxford English Dictionary.
Children born out of wedlock are not themselves responsible for the circumstances of their birth. On the other hand, they are responsible for how they live their adult lives.
